What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part getting to play a small part in people’s most special moments! I also love baking and creating, in general.

I make small batch custom goodies so your order gets my full focus.

My favorite thing to create is new flavors!
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? Why?
One thing I couldn’t live without is COFFEE! 4 year old + 2 year old + husband + full time job + home bakery = a LOT of coffee drinking!
If you had to only eat one thing for dinner for the next year, what would you eat?
If I could only eat one thing for dinner for the next year, it would be Chili’s chips and salsa.

One small business in St. Louis that I love is Noto in Cottleville. It is SOOOO GOOD!

Wedding Tip Wednesday: Three Tips for Planning Your Formal Family Portraits

Most people’s least favorite part of the wedding day is the formal family photos because in their past experiences the process takes forever and is typically unorganized. That’s not how we roll. We prioritize having this portion of your wedding organized weeks before your day arrives.
Before we plan your formal family shot list, here are three tips to keep in mind:
Share Special Family Dynamics
Weddings can be a delicate time for some families - whether it’s divorces, remarriages or strained relationships- it’s important to give us a heads up about your family dynamics. We don’t need to know the full story, but knowing before family photos will definitely help keep any awkwardness to a minimum and your wedding day stress free.
Tell Us What You Want, What You Really, Really Want
(I hope you read that in your Scary Spice voice)
If there’s a special person in your life, like a godmother or godfather, you would want in your formal photos, make sure to let us know! We’re happy to add them to your photo shot list and want to make sure they’re included. On the other hand, if there’s someone you would prefer not having in your images, let us know! We’re totally okay- and actually really good- at making sure those you don’t want in the images are not in the images. Accomplishing that goal with no trace of awkwardness is actually one of J’s giftings.
Share the Shot List with Your Family Members
While I try my hardest to remember the names of your bridal party and immediate family members, I can promise you I won’t be able to find your Aunt Kelly and her three kids. We’ll make a family shot list together about a month before your wedding (once you have all the RSVPs) and I’ll send you that entire file. Please share it with your family members or both of your mothers, so they know who’s going to be included in the photos and can remind those who need to stick around after the ceremony!

I LOVE working with Ashley because I know my Brides are going to have AMAZING eyelashes and gorgeous glam look. I’m really particular about how I like skin textures to look on camera, I want it smooth but still able to show the skin’s texture and Ashley does an amazing job at making skin look radiant and natural.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is making someone feel their absolute best on their wedding day. You can instantly see the confidence boost once they’re ready!
What makes your business different than others?
What makes us stand out from others is the way we will make you feel on your wedding day. I swear, I feel like we are hanging out with our girlfriends and jammin to some 90’s music! (The best!)
What is your favorite thing to create? Why?
My favorite thing to create is a soft glam bridal look & an undone, romantic updo. It’s so timeless & *literally* looks amazing on everyone! I would say that’s our signature look.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? Why?
I have two things I cannot leave the house with- a good mascara & a tinted moisturizing lip balm. #momsohard
If you had to only eat one thing for dinner for the next year, what would you eat?
French fries. Hands down. I could eat them as a meal.

Elmwood in Maplewood has uh-mazing food!

Meet Allyssa!
Allyssa’s attention to detail, love for Google Sheets, and hands-on approach made me want to work with her in the first place, but the calm she brings during stressful situations and genuine love for her Brides & Grooms is what makes me recommend all my couples to book her services. I love her as a wedding planner/ day of coordinator, but I also love her as one of my closest friends that I’ve gotten to watch turn into the best momma!

What is your favorite part of your job?
That's a tough one. I love (especially now) how weddings and events just bring people together - from all walks and different phases of life, from so many places. I also just love the pure joy of people's "best day ever" and being a small part of making that happen.
What makes your business different from others?
I don't limit my hours of availability on the day of an event! Depending on how the timeline plays out, I offer services as early as appropriate and always have myself/staff stay until the end of the reception and teardown. We love to assist other vendors' teardowns as well (ie florist, caterer, DJ, etc) so they can get home faster after a long day’s work.
What is your favorite thing to create? Why?
I love to help my couples create signage (ie gift & cards sign, guest book sign, signature drink or bar sign) if they haven't hired someone to do it or weren't planning on having any. They really elevate the details of the day and also act as a guide for guests! Trust me, a gift table with a sign versus an empty table is always better!
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? Why?
The easy answer is my little family. Aria has really changed my life in so many ways. Beyond the easy answer, I couldn't live without my computer. Smartphones are great but computers are so much easier to answer all. of. the. emails. I could NOT do what I do without it.
If you had to eat only one thing for dinner for the next year, what would you eat?
Crunchwrap Supreme from TBell (jk jk). Umm, probably the Honey Truffle Chicken from Cheesecake Factory. If you know, you know. If you don't, TRY IT. It comes with a side of mashed potatoes so it's just a big win for me.
What’s one small business in St. Louis you love?
Bri Whitman Photography ;) I also adore Jess Orf & her teams at White Traditions Bridal (St Charles) and Cleo Bridal (O'Fallon). I got my wedding dress at Cleo's as do about 60% of my brides! Jess is so sweet and really makes the dress-buying experience so fun and exciting. She also helps me out on styled shoots with dresses and I'm never going to take that for granted!

Meet Jasmin!
Owner of 100 West Floral Design.
I love working with Jasmin because I know the florals are going to be stunning and easy to photograph! I love that she puts the work in to build relationships with each couple to really capture the vision they want for their florals. She uses lots of fun textures and has a great collection of rental items to elevate the design on wedding days!
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of owning my business is definitely getting to know and forming relationships with my clients. It’s the best feeling ever when I’m designing for their wedding and it feels like I’m designing for a friend. I love getting to see the look on their faces when they see their flowers and it feels good to know that I played a part in the joy of their special day.
What makes your business different from others?
There are so many amazing florists in our community that do it SO WELL, but I would say the fact that we currently take a limited amount of events per year helps us to be able to form those connections with clients and really make it a personal experience for them.
What is your favorite thing to create? Why?
Easy— arch florals!!! I just love the design process and seeing it come to life with each layer of blooms. Plus, it’s usually the last piece I design so it also means that we are close to the end of our design days and really close to getting to see everything come together!
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? Why?
I definitely couldn’t live without my cell phone. I would have to learn how to read a map if I had to go without my phone and we all know that wouldn’t work out well for me. I GPS everything.
If you had to only eat one thing for dinner for the next year, what would you eat?
Seafood— lobster, specifically. 🤤
What’s one small business in St. Louis you love?
There are so many, but my husband and I have loooooved having Made. by Lia right down the street from us. We love supporting the businesses in our little community.
