Wedding Tip Wednesday: Why Should You Have An Engagement Session

We include engagement sessions in The Wedding Experience because we truly believe that they are a VITAL part of the entire process! It's so important for us to know each of our couples so we can tell your love story in a meaningful way. We want you to feel comfortable in front of our cameras where your genuine and authentic love can shine through in every image and video. Your engagement session is the perfect place for us to get to know each of you better.

During your engagement session, you'll have a chance to get to know us and experience how we shoot by giving prompts for organically inspired poses. To us, organically inspired posing means we try not to pose you, but rather coach you to a position yourself in something more natural. Then, we give you little prompts to help evoke emotion. Instead of telling you, “Now laugh at the camera.”, we’ll say, “Whisper your favorite breakfast cereal in a sexy voice to one another”. This always brings out the laughter and looks so playful! If we’re wanting something more serious and intimate, we’ll use the prompt, “Pull each other in real close and look into each other’s eyes. Align your breathing to each other.” This looks so romantic in your images.

Your session will make a huge impact on how the wedding flows! We'll already arrive at your wedding knowing how you interact, what your best poses are and how to photograph you in a genuine way. You will feel like such a pro on your big day because of the great practice you had in your engagement session and that's how it should be! Plus, we’ll all be like besties which makes it easier for us to be your honorary Bridesmaid & Groomsmen.
