Writing this blog post has taken longer than any other wedding we've done probably because these are our people. These are two people we've spent time every week with, we've celebrated together, prayed together, talked out things that make us nervous, and been very vulnerable and transparent with one another. These two trust us enough to come to our small group every week, listen to us teach, and love on others with us. We've been so grateful for their support and hope that we've been just as much of a support to them.
When they asked Justin to officiate their wedding my heart fluttered a little bit. We believe in these two. Samantha and Omar are a testimony of God's grace and perfect will that brings two people together. We've watched Samantha and Omar grow closer to God and to one another during their engagement and couldn't be more proud and excited for their ministry together.
Omar and Samantha promised to be each other's under a wrought iron canopy donned with lush hydrangeas and greenery at an intimate garden wedding at Marry Me Cottage. Attendees sat upon farmhouse wooden benches and watched as the wedding party, Omar's daughters, Samantha's daughter, niece, sister, nephew and brother in law, walked down an aisle lined with rustic lanterns.
Samantha wore a gorgeous dusty blue tulle skirt, white lace top, and flower embellishments, and a long white veil. Omar looked dapper wearing a navy suit and coordinating blue tie. The bridesmaids wore dresses of varying shades of blues and lavender and the maid of honor wore a lovely patterned dress in the same color scheme.
Samantha carried a handmade silk bouquet of hydrangeas, anemones, milk thistle, berries and lambs ear. The bridal party carried silk bouquets of lavender, white spray roses, anemones, and greenery.
The reception was held at the close O'fallon City Annex. They enjoyed Pasta House catering and a white cake baked and decorated by Samantha's mom.
My favorite part of the entire wedding day was when Samantha's daughter prayed over the food and thanked God for bringing her and her mom to be with Omar.
Her sweet voice is the first thing you hear in the video below. Not only did J officiate the wedding, but he also did video so the happy couple would be able to look upon it for years and years to come.
