I don’t know how, but to this day, I’m still convinced the sunsets in Virginia are more magical than anywhere else.
We walked hand in hand up the coast with the sand between our toes, talking about our future and how much we wanted to explore all the places we had never been with each other. When the sun had almost completely set, J asked a stranger to take a picture of us.
That’s when he got on one knee, used my full name and asked me to his wife. The rest of what he said is still a blur when I saw the ring he had chosen.
In March, J and I went to Branson to meet his mom and brother. At one of the shoppes I found this gorgeous princess cut ring with a halo and intricate braided design on the sides. I loved it but when looking at the price tag I knew I couldn’t ask him to spend that much on me.
When he opened the box and I saw that ring, my heart skipped a few beats. He knew that was the one I really liked and had went back and got it for me!
I was completely shocked! But so grateful that he chose me to spend the rest of his life exploring places we had never been and chasing after our callings together.
J, you have been the best yes I’ve ever made. On the hard days and on the easy, I will continue choosing you every single day.
