Brittany & Taylor had the sweetest ceremony and dinner on the rooftop of The Last Hotel this past Thursday with their closest friends and family members. Brittany and her girls got ready in the Presidential Suite while Taylor and the groomsmen got ready in the Governor Suite at The Last Hotel on Washington Avenue in St. Louis, MO.
There are usually tears during daddy daughter first looks, but Brittany and her dad's first look may have topped our list as the one with the most tears - I think J even got a little misty eyed. Brittany gave her dad a handkerchief, heart shaped letter and cufflinks that said, "Out of all of our walks, this one is my favorite", and a framed letter. I always like to ask Dads to give a piece of advice and her dad gave some advice I have to agree with, 'Keep God close in your heart'. A few years in, keeping God as our center has helped us make it through some things, so I have to agree that it's some wise advice.
Taylor and Brittany gave each other gifts before the wedding. Brittany gifted Taylor with one of his favorite whiskey from Colorado. Taylor gave Brittany a rambler.... and also tickets to Kenny Chesney next year, sitting up close! She was so surprised when she realized what they were!
We went to Forest Park for their first look, at the Grand Basin where Taylor proposed, and where you can see where Taylor first said, "I love you". I always like asking the groom what he thinks his Bride will look like and Taylor thought her hair would be down, and the dress would be backless. He was right, like he knows what his Bride would pick. ;)
Their rooftop ceremony didn't spare any tears, even the cake was in tiers, per Spencer's best man speech. Taylor's uncle preformed the ceremony which I think was my favorite wedding sermon yet. Their vows were my absolute favorite.
"I will treasure you and love you, today tomorrow and always. I will trust and honor you, I will laugh and cry with you, I will love you faithfully in the difficult and the easy, I will do all in my power to help you to be the person God calls you to be. In all this I ask in God's help, now and in the days to come."
Sunset happened during the reception and cast a romantic orange glow on the rooftop. Dinner, catered by The Last Hotel, included a delicious salad with spring greens, pickled red onions, goat cheese, nuts and dried fruit served with bread with citrus butter. Dinner included pan seared salmon with fresh herb salsa verde and capers, or braised beef with red wine jus and fresh herbs. And for dessert. Y'all. Oh em gee. Suji's Candy Bar! If you're in St. Louis, even just for the day, make sure you stop and get one of these desserts. Life changing! Mixologist, Chris, crafted a pretty strawberry lime drink amongst other beverages for guests to enjoy during speeches. Friends and family enjoyed dancing and chatting the rest of the evening with one group dance to Sweet Caroline.
Taylor & Brittany, while you're enjoying the sand and breathtaking views on your honeymoon, I hope you enjoy reliving your wedding day through these photos.
My favorite moment of the wedding ceremony happens after the Bride & Groom has walked back down the aisle together for the first time as husband and wife. Magical candids like this always happen and my heart melts into a puddle of goo.
