Ah! This is one of the most popular questions we get when talking through wedding day timelines with our Brides and Grooms. This week, we begin a series ALL about this topic and I’ll start by answering the basic “What even is it?” question.
What is a first look?
Simply put, a first look is an intimate time between just the Bride and Groom to interact with each other before they share their special day with the rest of their loved ones and guests.
For years, the tradition had been that the Groom doesn't sees the Bride for the first time on their wedding day until they meet at the end of the aisle. This started back in the time when arranged marriages were the norm and couples weren't allowed to see each other before the ceremony in case you didn't find the other attractive and wanted to call the wedding off. Over the last decade couples have opted to break this tradition and see each other earlier, before their ceremony.
While we completely believe that choosing a first look should be your decision, there are several reasons why we love first looks. Here are our top five reasons why you should have a first look!
